After starting out in a railroad boxcar and  a one room school house along with other places the Catholics  that had moved into the James and Pipestem  River area  (now  Jamestown) finally built the present church in 1914.  The American gothic-style church is 140 feet long and 50 feet wide (70 feet wide at the trancepts.)

Seriously, you need to stop and see the place where the townspeople trust each other in a way that can only be imagined by people from anyplace else.  The owners of teh Olson’s Service Station didn’t want to have to be ready to service customers from town 24 hours a day so they gave everyone in town a key to the gas station where they could get their gas, put the reciept in the slot in the door and get billed for the gas later.
