If you are a baseball fan you know about the legendary Roger Maris and his sixty-one home runs in 1961. His 61 in ‘61 set a new major league record, breaking Babe Ruth’s previous mark of 60 hit in 1927.  Everyone has heard of Roger Maris, the famous baseball player that played for the New York Yankees. His hometown is Fargo, North Dakota, and that is where the Roger Maris Museum is located. It is in the West Acres Shopping Center at 3902 13th Avenue South in the City of Fargo. Roger Maris was an outfielder who was famous for hitting sixty-one home runs in 1961. That was a new major league record at the time, and it broke the record set by Babe Ruth for 60 home runs in 1927. Roger Maris’ record for home runs stood for thirty-seven years..
