Prairie Fire Pottery - Beach, North Dakota

pottery.jpgPrairie Fire Pottery - Beach, North Dakota

Are you the type of person that wants only the best in your pottery?  The hand made pottery of a skilled potter is the right thing to have in your home.  If that’s you, then you want to make sure you get the pottery from Prairie Fire Pottery where the potter considers herself a "fire potter."

With 4 big gas burners heating up, the 2300 degrees the inside can reach and the 16 to 18 hours some of the pottery requires to be "just right", the glazes become molton and begin to flow and intermigle across the surface of the pot.  She uses her glazes as an artist would use paint to make the beautiful end product.  This is truly someplace you want to stop and visit, you will be in awe of the talent and beauty of the products as well as the talent required to accomplish the work.

Tama, the potter, graduated from University of North Dakota in Grand Forks with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree.  She has certainly put the skills to good use with this business and the ability to share beauty with the rest of the world is a goal all artists aspire to accomplish.

Stop in and see Tama and her husband Jerry, they’d love to show you around.
