The Pioneer Daughters took on the challenge of taking the Lutz Mansion in Jamestown and turning it into the Stutsman County Memorial Museum in 1965. This museum offers a wide array of memorabilia reflecting the culture and life of the early pioneers of Stutman County. There are several specialize collections including: The Railroad Room, The Military Room, The Country Store, The Claim Shack, The Doll Room, The Medical Room and The Library. The Parlor and Kitchen have collections of various household items, china, photographs and clothing.
Understanding the culture of the times gives the visitor an appreication for the differences between life then and now. It’s well worth the time to travel through this museum and reflect, learn and enjoy all they have to offer.
