Heritage Hjemkomst Interpretive Center – Fargo, North Dakota

Heritage Hjemkomst Interpretive Center

The Heritage Hjemkomst Interpretive Center is a fun and interactive museum to visit, especially if you are intrigued by the Viking Age.

Housed at this center is a replica Viking ship that was built in 1974 and sailed all the way to Norway in 1982. You can actually touch the ship and see how the crew lived during their voyage. This will also give you an appreciation of how the Vikings used to sail the seas more than a thousand years ago.

Another great exhibit at the Center is the Hopperstad Stav Church Replica. This beautiful replica looks remarkably like the churches in Scandinavia in the 1100s.

Fargo has a lot more going on than some people might imagine. It is a great city and one that should definitely be a part of your North Dakota vacation.  Check out HotelsCombined.com for the best rates on hotels in Fargo.
